Exchange 2007 Management Tools [ADUC Exchange Tasks]
Hello All, I wanted to install the Exchange management tools on one of my domain controllers so when I went to create a user it would also prompt me to create a mailbox for them. However, I am running a 2008 R2 domain controller 64-bit. I could not find the appropriate tools to install for this. I tried installing the tools from my 2007 w/sp1 DVD and it ended up corrupting my DNS database. I uninstalled and fixed that as quickly as possible. I also thought that installing Exchange 2007 on a server would add the functionality to the ADUC role on the Exchange server, but it did not. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Exchange 2007 is not integrated into AD anymore. You can create users and mailboxes via Exchange mnagaement console or create users accounts in AD and then create mailboxes in Exchnage 2007. That is the Exchange team's design going forward with 2007 and the same is true for 2010 as well. If you need this integration there are some third party tools. http://www.msexchange.org/articles_tutorials/exchange-server-2007/management-administration/managing-exchange-2007-recipients-active-directory-users-computers-mmc-snap-in.html

Thanks, that's a little depressing though. I always thought that was a nice feature.
